The quality and material of the setting itself becomes more significant than the overall appearance of the ring because for some reason, the spacing between diamonds is larger in the bead setting. As stated above, bead have fewer diamonds than that of the pave but the bead settings may end up to be more expensive because of the fact that it uses larger diamonds.

Although bead settings have a smaller number of diamonds than pave, the former can end up being more expensive because they require noticeable large diamonds. With that being said, the visual effect of a bead setting may be spectacular and elegant enough to make the added cost worthwhile.

The bezel is another one of the most popular settings of a diamond stone. Bezel emphasize individual diamonds set within elevated collar-like bezels. They are appropriate for naturally drawing attention to a single diamond, though multiple bezel settings are also normal. Bezels may also be mixed with other types of settings, like bead or pave.

One expensive but fashionable style is to have large stones set in bezels and then be surrounded by pave in large numbers but of smaller, fine diamonds. It does not have to be expensive to be considered fashionable because simple diamond solitaire bezels can also be very elegant. The bezel setting is also set in a way that it may give protection to the diamond; this is why this type of setting may also be the longest lasting.

The flush is one of the most recent trends in diamond rings. It involves diamonds being within the band of the ring. But unlike channel, it's set in the lower slot of the diamond. Channel setting is also commonly set within the band of the ring but is also raised or elevated. Almost all of the flush settings feature a small number of individual diamonds set at different points along the band. Generally, round brilliant diamonds are considered to be the most appropriate for use with flush but it is also advised and not harmful to use other shapes of diamond with this type.
